The following is a brief sampling of NEIU Board of Trustee Meeting Minutes.  The minutes reflect an ongoing effort to skirt the open meetings and open records laws of the State of Illinois by destroying meeting minutes and voting to keep meeting minutes confidential and out of the public eye.  The minutes also reveal that NEIU’s Board of Trustees continue to reward failed leadership at NEIU in the form of significant increases in Sharon Hahs’ compensation.

Excerpts from NEIU Board of Trustees Meeting Minutes:
NEIU BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING MINUTES – November 14, 2013
“Mr. Biggins, seconded by Mr. Duque, moved that the confidential written minutes of the executive session dated November 8, 2012 have been reviewed and it has been determined that they should remain confidential.”
“Ms. Fumo, seconded by Mr. Duque, moved to approve the destruction of verbatim records for the meeting held on April 12, 2012”

NEIU BOARD OF TRUSTEES METING MINUTES – September 19, 2013
“Mr. Biggins, seconded by Mr. Duque, moved to approve the destruction of verbatim records for the meeting held on February 9, 2012.”

NEIU BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING MINUTES – June 6, 2013
“Mr. Duque, seconded by Ms. Fumo, presented the following motion:
I move that the President of the University, and her designees, are authorized and empowered to negotiate a contract for the purchase and subsequent lease of the property at 3426 W. Bryn Mawr, Chicago, Illinois, in accordance with the terms of the letter of intent executed between the University and the owner of the property, and
consistent with the parameters outlined during the Board’s executive session held June 6, 2013.”
Roll was called and the vote was as follows:

“Trustee Stein, seconded by Ms. Fumo, presented the following motion:
